Alcon® AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL Single Piece
The AcrySof® Single-Piece Platform
In the late 1990s, the AcrySof® Single-Piece platform was added to the Alcon family of intraocular lenses. This platform enhanced the highly successful technology of the AcrySof® Multipiece lens by providing additional biomechanical/biomaterial features on a seamless acrylic platform.
The AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL uses the same biomechanical/biomaterial platform as the AcrySof® Single-Piece IOL. As of August 2005, the AcrySof® IOL material has been safely used in over 23 million human eyes.

With their exclusive open-loop design and flexible elbow, these tough, contortable haptics are designed to minimise the potential for capsular bag wrinkling. They also reduce the chances of haptic damage during implantation. And they have an extraordinary memory, gently unfolding within seconds after placement in the bag.
